Advanced Photonics Research (APR) Lab at School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is seeking TWO candidates for PhD and postdoctoral research fellow positions in the field of Nanophotonics & NEMS technology.

PhD‌

‌The main theme of our research focuses on developing a new class of semiconductor-based light sources for next-generation optical and quantum computing. ‌Recently, APRL demonstrated a low-threshold, compact group IV laser by inducing 1.6% strain on germanium nanowire structure and published the paper at Nature Comm. [pdf] .Our‌ team is now seeking candidates who can push the work to the next level.

The successful candidate should possess:
 - Bachelor's degree or Master degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied physics or related areas
 - Background of  Electronics, materials or devices
 - Excellent academic record in the top 20%
 - Good English speaking and writing skills

Postdoc

- Nanophotonics: Design, fabrication and characterization of photonic crystal nanophotonic cavities
- NEMS: Design, fabrication and characterization of NEMS optomechanical transducer

The successful candidate should possess:

- PhD degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied physics or related areas

Salary and terms of employment: Successful candidates can expect competitive salary and benefits. Monthly salary will be determined based on educational qualifications and research experience. The settling-in allowance will also be provided. The period of employment is 2 years.
